Long Island Living

li

Long Island has long since been known as 'America's First Suburb.'  With proximity and easy access to New York City, Long Island is known for its beaches, vineyards and quaint suburban towns (just to name a few!).  Below are the essential websites if you are interested in moving to Long Island or planning a vacation:

Newsday.com
Updated daily, this is a comprehensive guide to everything that's Long Island. There are sections on movies, restaurants, events, arts & music, places to go, sports, and nightlife. There is a great real estate section where you can peruse neighborhoods and housing prices.

Hamptons.com
Whether it be a mini-vacation or a full fledged summer rental, the Hampton's has been and will remain one of the top summer destinations on the Norther Hemisphere.  From the rolling Gambrel Style Estates to the quaint local vineyards, there is truly something for everyone 'out East.'

Eat Out Long Island
Long Island offers some of the best restaurants and chefs in the country with every cuisine and fusion style cooking imaginable.  For the top restaurants, great take out, or to find a cheap meal click on the link above.

Discover Long Island
Another all-purpose site to explore all Long Island, this sight focuses on the out of town traveler and what to do in the region.  Still used by locals as a great way to research vineyards, bike trails and local events- such as the Montauk St. Patricks Day Parade (which is a guaranteed good time!).

Parks and Beaches
The best way to find out where the best parks and beaches are on the Island.  Besides the Hampton's, Long Island offers miles of pristine beach- from Jones Beach to Fire Island- there is something unique and special about all of them.  Parks and activities for families are also offered on the site.
